The US-Switzerland match at the youth ice hockey international tournament resulted in the sudden way – it was cancelled due to two people with Covid infection in the American team, which is subject to the quarantine regime. Unfortunately, the judging committee decided on a technical defeat to the US team with a score of 0:1, TASS reports.
The American and Swiss teams compete in the group with Russia. The Swedish team is in the lead in the standings, followed by the USA and Russia (3 points each), then Switzerland and Slovakia.
Earlier, the Russians lost to the Swedes and won in the battle with the Swiss. The Russian youth team won in the competition with Sweden in the second match of the group stage of the Championship. The meeting, which was held on Monday in the Canadian Red Deer, ended 4: 2 in favor of the Russians. Thus, the Russian team won for the first time, having received three points from the results of two meetings.
At the end of December, the team will play with Slovakia, and on January 1 – with the US in the final match of the group stage.
